Thanks for this...I'm editing website text for a new open source operating system. They will have their website up and the new OS will be available soon. There are some really powerful open source programs out there for the anti-Microsoft geeks.
Do any of you use open source programs? They're a deal since they are mostly free.
Whoops...apologies...Google now uses Ubuntu instead of Microsoft Windows to run the computers in their corporate offices.
We use Nvu in our First Year Composition Program.
I've used GIMP and OpenOffice, myself.
All great programs.
We're always working with the written word in someway. Students are working on a tight budget so I think these are invaulable programs. Adobe Photoshop retail for over $ 400.00 USD so it's nice to have GIMP.
I just downloaded Sonar - I must say, it seems like just the sort of thing I've been looking for. All my previous submission records were in a cumbersome, non-sortable document. I remember thinking just a few months ago "there has to be a better way . . ." Now there is. Yay!
