Amazon Slam

The MFA Handbook is really getting slammed this week on Amazon.com. Complaints include the fact that I separated Residency from Low-Residency Programs in the appendix section; the annoyance that I use dashes in my prose; and that "The author also has a weird fixation on finances."

Some other criticisms are justified. I wrote at the beginning of the book: I'm just the bus driver, and that's true. I don't claim to know everything about every program.

I've asked this before on the blog, and I'm sorry to ask it again: If the book was helpful to you in some way, I'd really appreciate it if you could counter-balance some of these Amazon reviews. Or rip it if you'd like, but either way: I'd appreciate comments about what the book is and does, and how it was helpful or not helpful to you.

Thanks. Link to Amazon here.

Just wanted to say that I've found your book invaluable in my application process. I've returned to it again and again.

And I'd like to say it twice.
