I thought it was well known that seth uses these posts to collect data about who applies where and what kind of acceptances come in, etc. So yes, data is being collected!
you should re-post your question in the mailbag post. this thread is supposed to be mostly just for lists and isn't as frequently visited as the mailbag.
I, too, posted this a few months ago, but since then it has become official (I sent in my very last app about 10 minutes ago - yay!) so I'll post it again. It's for poetry:

I'll be happy getting into just 1 of these-- don't want to have to go through this process again next year. Best of luck to all!
I'm not expecting much. I was a little late getting into this ridiculous MFA game, and was horrified to see comparisons being made to getting into Harvard Med School or Yale Law. To think of the art form I've admired for so long, reduced to cutthroat admissions and an ugly dose of elitism. It literally made me sick to my stomach. Oh well. I should've expected it. It's the game. Play and lose. So it goes. (That's my one allotted Vonnegutism for the day)
The only hope I think I have is if my sample and statement is well received, and that's pretty much everyone else's hope too. Blurgh. Who knows? I'm used to being the Brady to everyone's Reagan ... used to all that bad luck and misfortune. Question is: who is going to be my Hinckley this time? All of them, mayhap? We'll see. I applied to Columbia College in Chicago but I'll admit I don't know much about it. If you have any questions about California College of the Arts, let me know. I was an active member of this community last year prior to accepting my spot at CCA. I would like to help anyone I can by answering questions about the school and program.
I'll subscribe to this thread so just shout out...
I know this is off topic, but since a lot of people are applying to McNeese I think it's important to know that the e-mail posted on their website for fiction applications is no longer monitored, since Mr. Connelly seems to have left their faculty. I was informed to resubmit my application to ataylor1@mcneese.edu, so anyone that made the same mistake should do likewise.
Not sure which mailbag to put this in, or where data is being collected for statistic purposes, but just wanted to let you know I got my first rejection email. It was from University of East Anglia (Norwich, England). Since they are in England, I'm not sure they follow the normal app timelines. They said you can apply anytime but suggest as early as possible in the previous year. I sent mine in mid-December, around Dec. 20th. Got the email this morning (jan 20) with a hard copy letter to follow in the mail.
This school has been wonderful for me since I have moved to three different states in the last three years. I start their Masters program in March, which is also amazing because I can start whenever I want, any month. I wanted to study at a campus but found my lifestyle too chaotic to even consider a low residency, let alone a full-time campus.
I recommend it for military, or busy workers, or stay at home moms. Wonderful pace, wonderful content.
@ Sarah, thanks for sharing and that's too bad about the University of East Angliea, but like you said, you still have a long list. On the bright side and MFA is a terminal degree and an MA is not, so in a way getting into an MFA program (though it doesn't give you great job prospects), will give you better job pospects than an MA.
Is it true they call you if you're accepted? I have no idea how to handle that, in the event I get in anywhere. I'm a weeper and I'd be so honored to get into any of my schools that I know I would just break down and make an ass of myself. Any advice on this?
Is it strange to already be worrying about rejections/ acceptances? Because I am. A lot.
Also, perhaps someone on here may be able to give me some advice. I'm finished applying, but that means that I have a lot of exhausted professors who have written me letters of recommendation and I'm trying to think of what I should do to thank them. I don't feel that sending a nice card is enough. Does anyone have ideas or experience with this issue? I should probably add that I am abroad, which complicates matters quite a bit from my end.
callastem, I think it does indeed mean we should be friends. It will be interesting to see which programs we make it into with such similar choices!
I gave a Starbucks gift card to each of my recommenders. They seemed to appreciate it. Don't know where you are abroad-- maybe that's a dumb idea-- but you can get them online.
@She-ra re: how to handle getting in on the phone.
A friend of mine asked the same question, knowing that her boyfriend was taking her on vacation specifically to ask her to get married. The answer: Long breath, calmly state: Took you look enough.
Good luck everyone! Here is my overly ambitious list for fiction:

First-time poster, several month reader. I live in New Orleans right now and only applied to LSU for fiction. Fingers crossed, but more than anything I'll be taking this process as a learning experience and will definitely be applying to a fuller round next year if I don't get in on this one shot.
Good luck to all! Have really enjoyed reading all the advice and research collected here.

Welp, I had a pretty strong vision in my dreams last night that I wasn't going to be accepted by anybody.
Time to start working on next year's portfolio. . .

@Justin T, keep your head up. No reason to give up quite yet. We all have doubts. We all have talent. Thankfully, the part of you that dreamed that isn't involved in the admissions process in any school.

Hi everyone,
Not sure which mailbag to put this in, or where data is being collected for statistic purposes, but just wanted to let you know I got my first rejection email.
Oh well, 1 down, 14 to go!

The best of luck with your other schools.

I only applied to one school: Virginia Tech. In retrospect....
Is it true they call you if you're accepted? I have no idea how to handle that, in the event I get in anywhere. I'm a weeper and I'd be so honored to get into any of my schools that I know I would just break down and make an ass of myself. Any advice on this?
Oh, geez, I forgot I was messing with blogger and jokingly changed my posting name to She-ra. It's kind of awesome, though.

@Minnow

I applied to five schools:
Minnesota State (Mankato)
Boise State

I also just have to mention that my wife just delivered our first child (a little girl) last night.
So, if I can only get into a school, life will be nearly perfect.
My seven schools in fiction:
1. Penn St
2. Southern Illinois
3. Minnesota
4. Iowa
5. LSU
6. Va Tech
7. Syracuse

Applying in fiction to these fine low-residency schools:

A ridiculous number of programs to apply to for low-res, I know, but I just couldn't decide...and I'm paranoid about whether I'll get into one at all!
This is it. Done. They're out.
