Jess Miele will be begin her first year at UMASS Amherst fiction writing program. She would like to contribute to the MFA Blog in any way possible.
She is currently working on a novel entitled "The Angel and The Mime," though that name has changed several times. Welcome, Jess. Looking forward to hearing more from you. Let us know how you do in the coming year. I'm heading into my second now, and I have to say that the first was full of surprises. So much of the MFA experience is not at all what one might expect--particularly if, like me, you're not a veteran workshopper [starting to feel like one now ;) ] And on the other hand, so much of the experience is more challenging and rewarding than I imagined it might be.
